February at a Glance
This past month I was asked to speak on Psalm 29:11 which is a petition made by King David where he requests that the Lord would grant His people with strength and bless His people with peace.
In this moment, we see David’s posture as that of a humble servant making his request before the throne of a mighty King. As a servant, David does not ask for strength and peace to do his own bidding or pursue his own plans, but, rather, he asks for such things to equip and qualify him to do the bidding of the king and pursue the purposes of the kingdom.
This is what we seek as we pursue the King, His kingdom, and His people in the places and through the positions He has called us to in this season. We ask, as humble servants, that he equip us with His strength and bless us with the peaceful fruit of righteousness that we might continue to serve Him and His people.
Coaching the Student Ministry Team at North Hall Church
Following the PLACE Workshop I did with the Student Ministry Team at NHC, I sat down with the girls and David Eppling, our Executive Pastor, sat down with the gentleman for individual coaching sessions.
The Lord’s timing was so evident in how he orchestrated these conversations. Concerns on one person’s heart were unknowingly addressed by another person through what the Lord had been laying on their heart already.
Sitting down with this team shed so much light on the value this type of experience can have for individuals and team members, from validating them in their strengths, encouraging them in struggles, and articulating ways they can grow individually and together.
Master’s Academy
At the beginning of the month, dad and I travelled to Vero Beach to meet with Dr. Rick Brewer, the Head of School at Master’s Academy, to discuss partnering with them as they develop a Career and Calling Center for their students.
We were able to sit down with Dr. Brewer in addition to speaking at a parent’s meeting to tell them about the opportunity and value that PLACE might bring their students.
After continued conversations with Dr. Brewer, we foresee this partnership to be ongoing with Masters and will prayerfully open more doors with other schools to model after what we launch there.
Village Student Leadership Team
The opportunity to partner with Village Church and their students has been both a blessing and an honor. Last year, dad and I spoke at their Ignite weekend and following that event I was asked to speak at their middle school girls event.
We have also been able to work with their Student Leadership Team. We were able to do a leadership training with them this past month on how your personality influences your leadership, and dad has already been invited back to speak at an event they will be at in Atlanta this summer.
Village Girls Night
I am overwhelmed with gratitude and awe in the Lord when I reflect on his goodness and faithfulness.
For the Lord answering the prayers that were lifted up over this night, that the Holy Spirit “who teaches all things would bring to my remembrance all that He had taught me” (John 14:26) in order to be used as merely a vessel to share the truth and love and wonder that is found in His Word.
