This month was one of stories. People’s stories. The month of November was full of coaching sessions where we heard people share their stories with us. How they came to know Jesus, how they came to North Hall Church, how they do, or do not, understand themselves, and so much more.
Our workshops are always something that bring stories from across the country about different churches, what God is doing in them, and what the people are hoping and praying for God to continue to do in and through them.
In podcast episodes, we heard stories about revival on the Bucky Kennedy Podcast and shared on the myPLACE Podcast our stories behind our book, The Dark Sides of Personality and How to Overcome Them.
In each of these stories, we catch a glimpse of what God has done, is doing, and can do in and through His people and by the power of His Spirit.
For this reason we rejoice, we pray continually, and we give thanks in all circumstances and seasons.
Following the last Wednesday Night PLACE Teaching at NHC, myself, dad, and the executive pastor, David Eppling, began coaching those who went through the teaching.
These were my first ever coaching sessions on my own and each one was vastly different than the other one. Some are more difficult than others. Some are more rewarding than others. Some people were longing for validation, others were looking more for direction.
As we wrapped up this first workshop and coaching cycle, we have already put at least three more workshops on the calendar for next year at NHC with college students, student ministry leaders, and the Bolivia Mission Trip team.
We have begun to put together new content for what will become our new Coaching Curriculum. This past month, my friend, Brooke, from North Hall Church came over to the office to record her coaching session with Dad.
In addition to this session, dad and I are going to record a real time analysis of their conversation as a tool to help coaches learn what to look for, what to ask, when to ask, and why. This is a project that we think is going to be so valuable to PLACE Connection Coaches. This resource will be in addition to the online learning course we will come out with as well.
BUCKY KENNEDY AND MYPLACE PODCAST RECORDINGS
In addition to just dropping the new episodes, we have been putting content out on social media to engage more people in this conversation with us. And for them to get to know even more, we created a landing page on our website for any and all podcast information.
At the beginning of the month we had four churches represented at our 2 Day PLACE Workshop Experience. Three out of the four churches in attendance were familiar with PLACE but were looking for fresh insight and a way to reintroduce it to the staff and people.
The fourth was new to our material. His wife had attendended the Georgia Baptist Pastor’s Wives Womens Retreat two years ago where mom and I taught on spiritual gifts, and she went home and told her husband about it. That was a reminder to me of the value of planting seeds with one’s presence with whatever opportunity or door the Lord opens, and reaping the fruit of your labor in a season that follows.
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
