October at a Glance
This month was about committing your work to the Lord, whether that work was presented on a stage or behind the scenes.
Most of what was “seen” this month involved a stage or a platform, but much of what was done was accomplished behind the scenes.
Much of October included working on projects like recording new teaching material and putting together content for the new coaching curriculum we are building. We also began planning the relaunch of our social media and podcast platforms.
Planning, and building, and creating involves lots of attention to details and careful consideration to ensure that we are doing everything, in word and in deed, with an excellence that best honors the One we serve.
With a desire for excellence and a heart of gratitude, we continue to commit our work to the Lord.
PLACE at North Hall Church
This past month I began teaching PLACE on Wednesday nights at North Hall Church. As dad phrased it, I “flew solo” for the first time. After all these years of listening and watching dad teach it, this was the first time I had ever taught the material on my own.
Although I got some great real time feedback from dad, who faithfully tuned in on their livestream every week, the feedback I got from those in the audience was just as valuable and affirming.
The night I taught on spiritual gifts, an older gentleman came up and said, “I never understood this about myself until you explained that.”
The next week, he found me afterwards and shared with me that what I had said had come to his mind while he was serving last week with the homeless ministry he helps lead. He said he was almost brought to tears as he heard the Holy Spirit whispering to him to check his spirit at that moment. He said it was a picture and a reminder he will never forget.
That type of feedback, the type that reveals the impact your words have on someone else’s life, reminds me of the impact this tool can have on people’s lives and the impact it can have on the kingdom.

The Bucky Kennedy Podcast has continued to be a part of our weekly rhythms in addition to some extra episodes I have recorded with Bucky. The most enjoyable part of those may be the unscripted content of Bucky that we get to enjoy behind the scenes.
The myPLACE podcasts episodes are awaiting their launch day in November. In order to have the best relaunch possible, we spent the month of October drafting and planning how to spread the news about our podcast through social media and email marketing campaigns.
Social Media Launch
I consider this a relaunching of sorts of our social media presence.
While I do have mixed feelings about social media, it seems to have become a necessary platform to make your presence known and tell more people about the message you have to share.
My hope is that the more people can get to know us, the more people we can impact for their own sake and the sake of the kingdom.
“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
